Apple announced Monday that it will be partnering with Cisco Systems Inc. to better serve business clients. Many companies rely on Cisco for business networking technology such as such as routers, phone systems, and video conferencing equipment. The goal of the partnership is to help Apple’s iPhone and iPad work more effectively with Cisco’s networks, giving workers access to more tools on more devices. The partners also plan to develop a “fast lane” for iOS devices using Cisco networks. It will prioritize shared Web connections to ensure business applications have greater access to bandwidth than other, lesser needed usage (for example, video conferencing won’t be slowed down by another user watching videos on the network simultaneously). Though the partners haven’t announced any new products yet, if Cisco is currently one of your preferred vendors you can expect to see Apple products offered soon.
